BluePay Inc. and AmbironTrustWave Jointly Offer CISP/PCI Compliance Services
Lisle, Illinois - August 4, 2005 - BluePay Inc., a leader in payment processing solutions, and AmbironTrustWave, a Qualified Data Security Company (QDSC) providing service to more than 30,000 clients, have entered into a partnership agreement allowing BluePay and AmbironTrustWave to jointly offer CISP/PCI compliance services to all levels of merchants.
In order to ensure that cardholder information is at the forefront of each merchant's security policies, VISA USA and others have instituted required protocols that all merchants must adhere to. CISP/PCI compliance rules from VISA are currently in effect and all merchants are expected to be compliant by certain dates. VISA states that, "A key component of success is merchant and service provider compliance. When PCI Data Security Standard requirements are enforced, they can provide a well-aimed defense against data exposure and compromise." Failure to comply with these regulations could result in fines to the merchant reaching as high as $500,000 per incident for those merchants that are not compliant at the time of the breach. Each merchant needs to be aware which Merchant Level it is classified as to achieve compliance.
"Our research shows that most hosting and ISP companies fall into a level 3 classification," said Brad Bialas, President of BluePay, Inc. "This classification requires that by June 30, 2005 each of these companies must complete a CISP/PCI questionnaire as well as schedule quarterly network scans to be conducted by an approved QDSC provider. Although the card associations have persistently presented these requirements to merchants and acquirers, most companies are still behind in their compliance efforts. By partnering with AmbironTrustWave, BluePay is now able to present merchants with a quick and simple process to ensure that they meet the CISP/PCI requirements in a timely manner. We are excited to present this important service to our customers and urge all companies to take the time to familiarize themselves with these regulations and act on them accordingly."
"Our relationships with premier service providers such as Blue Pay, enable us to offer compliance services to numerous businesses that process and/or transmit cardholder information," said Robert J. McCullen, CEO of AmbironTrustWave. "We look forward to working with BluePay and their clients to better protect the transaction supply chain."
